From past few months Rahul Gandh is hell bent to present India as not a nation but a union of states. Nawabzade ie. Rahul Gandhi while addressing students at the Cambridge University raised the concept of “nation” and “Union of states”, and called India the latter. Rahul underlined that the word “nation” is a western concept. It must be noted that this is not the first time Rahul Gandhi is trying to portray India as a union of states and not nation in front of the world. Earlier while speaking in the parliament Rahul Gandhi went up to take the hold the same idea of India.

Siddhartha Verma who is a civil servant went up to question the Rahul Gandhi on his statement that “India is not a nation but a Union of States”. While giving the answer Rahul Gandhi seemed confused between Rashtra and Rajya but small mistakes must be overlooked for personality like Rahul Gandhi. Rahul Gandhi in his answer asserted that India is not a nation but the result of negotiation between states. This Statement simply holds no mole of truth. India that is Bharat is the oldest existing civilization and with these statements the leader of the oldest political party of India is questioning the legacy of Bharat.

Since the movie on Pṛthvīrāja (III) Chauhan is coming, it would be interesting to note that Jayānaka conferred the title of Bhārateśvara to Pṛthvīrāja, in the epic Pṛthvīrājavijaya Mahākāvya (12th century text). If Bharat did not exist how was Prithviraj Chauhan given the title of Bhārateśvara.( Credit- @Lost_History1). Chanakya too as was mentioned by Siddhartha Verma in his question categorically said to his students in Takshasheela that they might be from different Janpads but ultimately they belong to this great nation known as Bharat.

Also Vishnu Purana says-
उत्तरं यत् समुद्रस्य हिमाद्रेश्चैव दक्षिणम्
वर्षं तद् भारतं नाम भारती यत्र सन्ततिः
which translates to The country that lies north of d Ocean & south of d Himalaya is called Bhārat, And there dwell the descendants of Bharat which proves that India’s been a nation for 1000s of year(Credit-Amish Tripathi)
