Isha Foundation Offers Isha Vidya Schools In Tamil Nadu As Covid Care Centres

The Isha Foundation recently offered its schools in Tamil Nadu as Covid care centres. Isha Foundation schools are run in eight districts of Tamil Nadu, viz Coimbatore, Erode, Salem, Nagercoil, Thoothukudi, Cuddalore and Dharampuri.
Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev tweeted, “We are offering premises of #IshaVidya schools to Tamil Nadu government as #Covid care centres with a bed capacity of 990. I appeal to the community to unite in strengthening the hands of the administration to overcome this challenge.”

The Isha Foundation also informed through a public news release that it has contributed 11.54 crores to Isha Community Outreach efforts in villages around the Yoga Centre in Thondamuthur on the outskirts of the city. Jaggi Vasudev’s paintings were auctioned online to raise the funds.

Isha Foundation also supported the local administration with medical infrastructure and supplies, including distribution of face shields, masks, sanitizers and PPE kits to frontline workers and equipping local primary care centres with necessary infrastructure.
In some remote villages of Tamil Nadu, the Isha Foundation also runs community kitchens which supplies basic food for the poor and needy so that no one dies of hunger. The Isha community kitchen also serves the village poor immunity booster drinks as a guard against the pandemic in rural areas.
