In another heinous incident where an adult male named Sabir Ali aka Baba Khan raped and murdered a minor Hindu girl in Chhattisgarh. Sabir allegedly hung the body of the victim from a ceiling fan and inscribed someone else’s name on her hand using a pen, to make it look like she had committed suicide.
Police’s preliminary crime scene investigation concluded this is not a suicide but a murder. Further investigation pointed suspicion at Sabir Ali. The accused was later arrested by the local police.
According to Police, Sabir saw that victim was alone at home and then he entered the home, raped, and killed the victim by strangulating her with a dupatta. Later he hanged her, wrote a fake suicide note, and tried to hide the pieces of evidence.
The accused choked the girl before hanging her body from a ceiling fan in her home said Surajpur Additional Superintendent of Police Harish Rathore as per PTI report.
As per initial investigations, the victim was a Class 12 student, who took her practical exams on Thursday and then came home to Surajpur, which is approximately 300 kilometers from the state capital Raipur. According to the officials, her mother was out of town taking care of her ailing father in Bilaspur.
A complaint has been filed against the suspect Sabir Khan under Indian Penal Code sections (IPC) 302 (murder), 376 (rape), and other pertaining provisions. “Based on further investigations the requirements of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act (POCSO) will be incorporated into the probe.”
