One of the main defendants in the Kerala gold smuggling case, Swapna Suresh, accused NIA agents of being Kerala cadres acting on Pinarayi Vijayan’s orders on Friday. Speaking to the news organisation ANI, Swapna claimed that the central organisation had removed the proof she had provided. She further claimed that the phone she gave the agency, which included chats and other details about Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s participation in the gold smuggling case, had vanished. In her affidavit that she presented to the High Court, Swapna claimed that the phone was not a part of the seizure mahasar.

She said that the device held proof that the former principal secretary M Sivasankar had told her about the CM’s request for an NIA inquiry into the case. Because the officers appointed to the agency were from the Kerala cadre and were close to the CM and his party, Sivasankar had asserted that it would be simpler to modify records. She alleged “Swapna Suresh alleged, “He (KT Jaleel) cannot deny any allegation. It is not an allegation, it is with evidence. I have added this in an affidavit to show that this gentleman can stoop down to any level if he is a Minister or an MLA to do anything or attack a publication and a poor woman like me. I wasn’t working as a PA to the Consul General during that period. If you look into the dates, I was working for the Space Park project under the government of Kerala where I was placed by the honourable CM, Sivasankar and all these people,”.

Notably, on Thursday, Swapna also submitted an affidavit to the Kerala High Court in which she charged KT Jaleel, a former minister of Kerala and current MLA, with engaging in “anti-national actions” and breaking protocol by engaging in dubious business with the UAE Consul General. In response to the Kerala government’s opposition to her request to have the FIR in the conspiracy case lodged on the complaint of former minister KT Jaleel quashed, Swapna filed a rebuttal affidavit. Money arrived at the CM’s home in Biryani containers, according to Swapna Suresh.

As you may remember, Swapna Suresh stated last month that she has a lot to say about the matter but has been threatened with death. Serious accusations have been made by her against CM Pinaryi Vijayan and his family. Following her testimony before the court on June 7, Swapna spoke with reporters and claimed that CM Vijayan had received a bag containing money while he was in Dubai in 2016. She added that huge metal-filled biryani vessels were transferred from the home of the consulate general to the Cliff House, the CM’s official residence, on M Sivsankar’s orders

CM Pinarayi Vijayan and three other ministers are named by Suresh in the case involving gold smuggling.

Notably, Swapna Suresh has already made significant accusations about the Gold smuggling issue against Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and three of his cabinet ministers. Prior to the crucial assembly elections in Kerala last year, Swapna Suresh informed the Customs Department that Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan was directly involved in the cases of gold and dollar smuggling. This put the ruling Left Democratic Front (LDF) government in a precarious position.
