West Bengal STF has arrested two suspected members of the banned terrorist organization Al-Qaeda from the Kharibari area of ​​Sasan in North 24 Parganas district. Material indicating waging war against India has been seized from them.

It is believed that both of them were about to execute something big. STF caught them on a tip-off and took this action in the Kharibari area under the Sasan police station. Both were arrested on Wednesday night. According to the STF, there may be active members of the Prohibited Terrorist Organization (AQIS) in the Indian subcontinent. STF sources said the detained persons have been identified as Abdur Rakib Sarkar, a resident of Gangarampur, district Dakshin Dinajpur, and Qazi Ahsanullah, a resident of Arambagh in Hooghly district.

The STF of West Bengal Police claimed to have seized radical literature indicating waging war against India from their possession. A case has been registered against both of the detained accused under various provisions of UAPA and IPC. The names of 17 others have been included in the FIR based on their interrogation. In this way, some more arrests may happen in the coming days.

Notably, the Indian subcontinent unit of Al Qaeda has launched a massive campaign against India through the Internet and social media. They are busy spreading communal hate in the name of jihad. Central investigation and intelligence agencies are constantly keeping an eye on these elements.
