Is Jharkhand state’s law and order collapsing ? Is the state’s law and order under serious threat? What is the government of Jharkhand which is being led by Jharkhand Mukti Morcha along with its allies Congress and RJD doing? These are some of the questions that comes into the mind of the people of Jharkhand after getting the information that the judge of Dhanbad Uttam Anand was deliberately hit by the Auto-Rickshaw which led to his death.
On July 28, District and Sessions Judge, Dhanbad Uttam Anand went out for a morning walk, never to return home.He was killed in a road accident after a three-wheeler/auto rickshaw rammed into him while he was walking along the edge of the road. The CCTV footage that emerged later seemed to suggest that it was a deliberate act done with the intention of injuring or killing the judge. At the time of his death, Anand was hearing the murder case of Ranjay Singh, a close aide of Jharia MLA Sanjeev Singh. He had also rejected the bail plea of Abhinav Singh and Ravi Thakur, members of a gang headed by Aman Singh, who is under arrest.
The CBI joint director Sharad Agrawal on Thursday informed the Jharkhand High Court that Additional District and Sessions Judge of Dhanbad, Uttam Anand, was deliberately hit by the auto-rickshaw which led to his death. The motive behind the act is not confirmed. The CBI informed the court that they are trying their best to find out if someone asked the auto driver Lakhan Verma and his friend Rahul Verma to deliberately hit the Dhanbad judge Uttam Anand. The court expressed their displeasure from the fact that the CBI has not moved away from Lakhan Verma and Rahul Verma and still not able to find the main culprit behind this heinous crime. Lakhan Verma and Rahul Verma currently stand of the view that they hit the judge in order to snatch valuable things and money from him. The CBI conducted narco tests upon them and also interrogated them in police custody due to which these two accused accepted that they intentionally hit the judge on the morning of July 28 near Randhir Chowk in Dhanbad district when the judge was returning home after a morning walk. These 2 accused are currently in police custody.
