Himanta Biswa Sarma, the chief minister of Assam, made fun of the Congress Party’s “Bharat Jodo Yatra” before it began in Kanyakumari on Wednesday and suggested that the party should move its campaign to Pakistan.
The Assam chief minister made the remarks on Tuesday in Kokrajhar, where the Assam government’s cabinet met. Himanta Biswa Sarma’s government decided to hold cabinet sessions once per week, one of which is held at a district headquarters rather than Guwahati each month after taking office. Accordingly, the conference yesterday was held at Kokrajhar, which serves as the district office for the Bodoland Territorial Area.
Sarma responded when asked about the Congress party’s “Bharat Jodo Yatra”, “India was divided during the 1947 Congress. The best place for Rahul Gandhi to launch the “Bharat Jodo Yatra” is Pakistan. Why is this Yatra being conducted in India? India is already united. I would like to suggest to Rahul Gandhi that he conduct the “Bharat Jodo Yatra” in Pakistan as India is already united.
Sarma said, “Rahul Gandhi could launch the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ from Pakistan and unify Pakistan and Bangladesh with India if he regrets the mess his maternal grandpa (Jawaharlal Nehru) caused.
He advised Rahul Gandhi to work toward Akhand Bharat if he had any regrets about the partition. The CM asserted that there is no need for an integration drive because India is already united from Kashmir to Kanyakumari and Silchar to Saurashtra.
Himanta Biswa Sarma also denounced the Congress party on Twitter, calling the campaign “a Comedy of the Century” and the “Bharat Jodo Yatra.” “The Bharat that we live in today is resilient, robust, and united,” he continued. India was only ever partitioned once, in 1947, thanks to Congress’ approval. If they seek unification, Rahul Gandhi should travel to Pakistan for the “Bharat Jodo Yatra.”
Apart from Sarma, Tamil Nadu BJP chief Annamalai has made fun of Rahul Gandhi for choosing to travel to “Jodo India” rather than “Quit India.” He claimed that when he travels across the nation on this trip, Rahul Gandhi will observe how the country has changed under PM Modi in the past eight years.
Congress Party is kicking off the Bharat Jodo Yatra from Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu will serve as the starting point of the “Bharat Jodo Yatra” and Jammu and Kashmir, its conclusion. Over the course of 150 days, it will travel 3,570 kilometers across 12 states and 2 union territories.
