There is currently a big movement going on in India to know history of Bharat that has been concealed or not revealed as it was.
How many of us can recognize five persons in the above file photo?
They are L to R, Md Iqbal, and Lt Srinivas standing; and seated are Major N H Alvi, Maj Gen Loganathan (Governor of Andaman and Nicobar Islands), and Lt Suba Singh.
Netaji Subhash Chander Bose as Head of the provisional Government had proclaimed the Andaman and Nicobar Islands as territories liberated from British rule.
That was 1943. December 30, 1943 to be exact.
‘De dee hamain azadi bina khadag bina dhall’ is nothing but a poet’s weaving of words for a Bollywood movie.
The one who dared to call 1857 as the first war of Independence was consigned to cellular jail of the same territories during British Rule.
” In 1857, Indian soldiers rose up against their British commanders. They were joined by native rulers and thousands of ordinary people in a struggle that threatened to destroy British colonial power on the Indian subcontinent’, writes web pages of National Army Museum, UK.
Every picture is said to be 1000 words.
The title picture is much more.
While ‘Panj Piyare’ of Guru Govind Singh ji were Hindus. The ‘Panj Piyare’ of Subhash Chander Bose ji, as I liked to call them, were Hindu , Sikh and Muslims.
Some muslim political leaders in India today may not like to speak ‘ Vande Matram’ for India, but there was no such feeling during struggle for India’s Independence under the leadership of Subhash Chander Bose.
As against this, under Gandhi-Nehru leadership, Jinah parted from Congress (and British India) with many muslims and Ambedkar parted from Congress with many Dalit Hindus. May see

What can bring all Indians together, Again?
Fight against Corruption is one such issue.
Anna Hazare and Kejriwal brought it up against corruption of Congress and we have seen response of every Indian, resident or non- resident.
Unfortunately, that movement itself has badly collapsed.
PM, Narendra Modi, has taken over that issue from Anna Hazare and Kejriwal and they are getting big support except from some under the influence of some conventional muslim political leaders.
Fight against Lies, misstatements and misrepresentations of Political Leaders should be an issue now to bring us all Indians together.
Misrepresentation and fraud come under the purview of courts of India also. But the history of delays in Indian courts generates no optimism.
Lets rise above petty divides like we did during the struggle of Independence and decide to vote out corrupt and liars.
1% Indians own 40% wealth of India, according to a recent World Inequality Lab report. Is it not a good enough reason for 99% Indians to vote for clean and honest political leaders, irrespective of religion or party, for better future of us, our kids and grandkids?

“Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, the Supreme Commander of the Indian National Army visited the A&N Islands as Head of the Provisional Government of Azad Hind during the Second World War when the Islands were under the occupation of the Japanese Imperial Force. Netaji hoisted the national tricolor for the first time on Indian soil on 30 December 1943.
Netaji, accompanied by members of the Azad Hind government and his staff, paid an official visit to Andaman and Nicobar Islands from 29 to 31 December 1943.
He stayed at the former British Chief Commissioner’s official residence on Ross Island. His visit followed the Japanese Prime Minister’s historic declaration at the Assembly of Greater East Asiatic Nations in Tokyo on 6 November 1943 that the Andaman and Nicobar Islands would be transferred to the Provisional Government of Azad Hind.
On 30 December Netaji addressed a mass rally of Indians at the Gymkhana ground in front of the Andaman Club and formally hoisted the national tricolor to the accompaniment of the national anthem. He visited the Cellular Jail, where Indian revolutionaries were detained by the British, the same afternoon. He spent two hours there going round the Indian Bastille.
Describing his visit to the islands later, Netaji said, ”During this visit, I and the members of my party had the unique experience of our lives when we stood on the soil of free India for the first time.
It was an unforgettable event for us to see our National Tricolor Flag fluttering in the air over the former British Chief Commissioner’s residence on Ross Island, and we wondered all the time how the wheels of history were now moving in India’s favour.
While we were in the Andaman Island we visited the notorious Cellular Jail in Port Blair and paid homage to those patriotic countrymen of ours who suffered indescribable persecution and torture in the past and some of them even laid down their lives as victims of British tyranny and brutality.”
