On Saturday, 20th of August 2022, Islamists forcibly converted a female Sikh teacher in Peer Baba of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) province of Pakistan. This added one more incident into the list of many human rights violation incidents. The Sikh community in the province of KPK is protesting against this forced conversion. On Sunday, August 21, 2022, a video of the demonstrations with Sikhs shouting slogans outside a Pakistani police station surfaced on Twitter.

Aaj Tak reported that a young female teacher from the Sikh community was allegedly abducted on Saturday. Next day, the family of the young woman was informed that she is now married to a Muslim person. This incident, generated intense hatred among the Sikh community. The name of the sikh teacher who was forcefully converted and married to a Muslim is Dina Kaur. Her family was informed of the forced marriage and conversion on Sunday. When the family arrived at the police station, no one was interested in filing a complaint. The local police, according to the family members, have ordered the Sikhs to keep quiet about this matter and have not filed any FIRs.
