Unheard are the anguish and frustration of a loyal congress worker today! Was an uncharitable remark of a matured man having sunken eye, flowing beard and bald appearance before a congress office bearer?

No one to speak to. No one is there to respond. A small group of coterie has put the party ideology for sale by taking over the chain of communication. It is a crazy disconnect.  Money, power and vested interest has dissuaded honest functionaries and this vacuum has been appropriated by power brokers who control the string of decision making body and senior party functionaries. The seething anger, trembling voice and pounding heart were all visible and piercing.

I belong to a third generation of a freedom fighter and congress man but yet cannot convince my children to vote for my party in the Bihar election. I am so disappointed. The helplessness was translating into loss of words. Bitter but truthful.

You supported Shiv Sena in Maharastara and Muslim league in Kerala. Whom should I accept and whom should I reject. You choose position over ideology and left the supporter to disbelieve the idea of secularism. Who had made you walk into this trap? The average 30 percentage minority in two states of west Bengal and Kerala where election is scheduled now needs an answer. And is there anybody or any appropriate forum that can explain this contradiction. Secularism has turned into opportunism. Political party with no presence, no leadership and no welfare agenda for Bihar cornered lion votes of minority leaving us to be ridiculed and repudiated. Why? This loss of Bihar is not an isolated or a local event. Do not forget Delhi, the capital city where your even majestic presence could not inspire one constituency to vote for you.

The sin of elsewhere has sprouted here. Can you contain the rumor, insinuation and propaganda in this Information age?  But whom to complain?

The enraged voice and helplessness was moderating into silence now. Sentences were now becoming measured and objective.

You went ahead to support Communist in West Bengal and oppose them in Kerala.  And that made our fight against capitalist for socialist states a ludicrous, dysfunctional and derailed story. There will be elections in the two states in some time to come. Bereft of ideology and practicality you would be delivering only ambiguous messages to your followers.

On the one hand you vouched for national security, sovereignty and on other hand you supported and stood with Tukde Tukde Gang. While the entire India stood against this anti national sentiment on those sensitive occasions, your action to stand for them only brought us misery and derision. Was there any sensible reason to believe or support anti nationals for their action against the nation? The cheerleader across the border will not come to vote for you. You are in electoral politics in India.

The worst you went ahead and questioned our National Army. They neither had nor have   any role in electoral politics and you played in the hand of a hidden Pakistani element lurking from those unknown corners to question their valor, sacrifice and loyalty. Thing twice, did you gain anything in this exchange?  Are you even rational? Rejection repudiation and severe criticism were aired through independent media for days and months. And you had no response or defense.

Nation is not governed by imaginary whims and diversionary illusions. No one ever bothered to ask the electorate what they want? All mechanisms of communication and feedback were broken by money managers and power brokers. We now look like an anchored ship far away from a deserted island of ideas on this planet earth.

Disbelief to anguish to frustration to anger is now retreating into disappointment.

Countable days are left in my life. Vision is blurred now. Energy strength and determination has weakened. The Spirit is receding. Am I uttering these profound words of helplessness for me or for my Congress party? He murmured while closing his eyes when two drops of tears rolled through the cheek. ​
