There is good news for students who dream of pursuing medical studies in UP colleges. This time more students who pass NEET will get admission in MBBS course. About 800 seats are expected to increase in government and private colleges. On Friday, a private medical college in Prayagraj has also got approval to enroll in 150 seats of MBBS.
There are 22 state medical colleges in the state including KGMU, Lohia Institute. In the academic session 2019, the Medical Council of India approved admission for 2628 seats. There are 24 medical colleges in the private sector. There are about 3300 MBBS seats in them. KGMU, the only government institution in the state, has 70 seats for BDS, while 22 private dental colleges have 2200 BDS seats.

According to the Directorate General of Medical Education, the private medical college at Prayagraj has been approved for admission to MBBS course. The college will be able to enroll in 150 seats. At the same time, another private medical college in Greater Noida can get admission in MBBS course. The National Medical Commission (NMC) can also give admission to three state medical colleges in the state. In the last several academic sessions, the number of seats in many colleges was cut, which is expected to increase.
