Colonel Assimi Goïta, the Malian military officer who has been serving as interim President of Mali, declared three days of national mourning which will begin from 21st of June after 132 civilians have been killed in the Islamic attack on the Republic of Mali in West Africa on Monday. The attacks were being carried out by Islamic terrorists which belongs to the Katiba Macina armed group affiliated with the dreaded terrorist group Al-Qaeda.
Villages were attacked by Islamists in the Bankass area in Mali’s central Mopti region on Saturday and Sunday. fact, several hundred civilians have been killed in attacks by Islamic terrorists in central and northern Mali since the beginning of 2022. Moulaye Guindo, the mayor of Bankass stated to the Associated Press news agency, “Investigators are on the spot today to find out exactly what happened.”
