It is part of the Eeman (faith) of the Muslims that Muhammad was the last Prophet sent by Allah, and after him, there will be no further messengers sent to this planet. Ahmedi Muslims, who consider Mirza Ghulam Ahmed Qadiyani as their Prophet, are shunned by the Muslims. In Pakistan, Ahmadis are declared non-Muslims and treated like pariahs. However, when one tried to find any such order, command or declaration in the Quran, none is there to be found. Muslims present a verse (yes even they can quote only one verse in the entire Quran!) to present their case. Here is that verse:

(33:40) Muhammad is not the father of any of your men, but he is the Messenger of Allah and the seal of the Prophets. Allah has full knowledge of everything.

Arabic word used here is KHATAMUN NABIYEEN

We are told that part where Quran says ‘seal of the Prophets” confirms that he was the last Prophet, and that no one will come after him. In the Arabic verse, the word is KHATIM for seal, as used in this verse. Now if we take a look at where else is the same word KHATIM used, or similar words coming out of this word, which would also translate to “seal”, then the following can be found:

(83:25-26) They will be given to drink [pure] wine [which was] sealed. The seal of it is musk. So for this let the competitors compete.

Arabic word used here is KHITAMUHU

“wine which was sealed” “the seal of it is musk”. This verse denotes seal as something in which smell or taste is encapsulated, not the “end” of wine or “last” wine.

Now let us take a look at some evidence of how any seal placed by Allah, removes later

(2:7) Allah has set a seal upon their hearts and upon their hearing, and over their vision is a veil. And for them is a great punishment.

(36:65) That Day, We will seal over their mouths, and their hands will speak to Us, and their feet will testify about what they used to earn.

Arabic word used here is NAKHTIMU

The above verses claim of putting a seal on the mouths of “Kafirs”, and then if we look at the verse below, the seal is removed when there is a requirement:

(40:71-74) When the shackles are around their necks and the chains; they will be dragged. In boiling water; then in the Fire they will be filled [with flame]. Then it will be said to them, “Where is that which you used to associate [with Him in worship]. Other than Allah?” They will say, “They have departed from us; rather, we did not used to invoke previously anything.” Thus does Allah put astray the disbelievers.

Please take a note, how Allah says that first they will be sealed, and then the seal is shown as removed, and they will answer a question asked by Hell’s Angels. This goes to prove that any “seal” mentioned in Quran is not non-removable. The other important point is, in Urdu and Hindi, the word KHATAM means THE END, FINISH. But in Quran’s language, it appears to mean a SEAL. So, the Indian and Pakistani Muslims automatically accept and propagate the wrong meaning of this word. Therefore, the position held by Muslims that Quran declares Muhammad as the last Prophet, is questionable to say the least.
