We saw PM Modiji donning the INA cap during the republic day celebration of 2022. In this process, he gave due respect to the person whose contribution to nation had been wiped out.
During the course of WWII, after Japanese captured Singapore, On 21st October 1943, Subhash Chandra Bose announced the formation of the Provisional Government of Azad Hind (Free India) in Singapore, with himself as the Head of State, Prime Minister and Minister of War. The Indian community there acclaimed him as the leader (Netaji).
The Provisional Government not only enabled Bose to negotiate with the Japanese on an equal footing but also facilitated the mobilization of Indians in East Asia to join and support the Indian National Army (INA).
Netaji is the first PM of India. How?
- It was a government that was in control of a part of India, part of Manipur in fact and Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
- He had an army.
- He issued his currency.
- He was a leader of a legitimate government recognized by a large number of countries of the axis alliance and Ireland.
The revolutionary movement of Netaji has been wiped out of our history books. We need to give him the position he deserves.
