The Indian Council of Historical Research (ICHR) has reportedly decided to delist the 70 Moplah mass murderers who died in Wagon Tragedy as martyrs from the Dictionary of Martyrs of India’s Freedom Struggle (1857-1947).

The communist and Islamist historians, particularly in Kerala, have passed off the ‘Wagon Tragedy’ as a second ‘Jallianwala Bagh Massacre’ during the British era. But the truth is that while the victims of the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre were innocent unarmed men, women and children, the 70 people who died in the Wagon Tragedy were arrested Moplah mass murderers who committed genocide of Hindus during the Malabar Rebellion or the Moplah Riots 1921.

The victims of the Wagon Tragedy were by no strech of imagination martyrs of Indian freedom struggle, but were hardened jihadist mass murderers and rapists who committed most horrendous crimes on Hindu men, women and children under the garb of Khilafat Movement in Malabar area.

The Moplah mass murderers were arrested and rounded up by the British; 90 of them were squeezed in a freight wagon, 56 died due to suffocation during their journey while they were being transported to Poddanur Central Prison near Coimbatore from Tirur on 19th November 1921. Six more prisoners died en route to hospital and eight died in the hospital.

The original Dictionary of Martyrs of India’s Freedom Struggle was made and released by the ICHR in 2019. The compendium had listed these Moplah mass murderers who died in the Wagon Tragedy along with other 387 Moplah Genocidaires as martyrs.

The Kerala RSS and Hindu groups protested against the inclusion of the Moplah genocidaires who brutally murdered over 10,000 Hindus, raped women and did not spare even pregnant women whose bellies were hacked and foetuses were wrenched out.

Thousands of Hindus were forcibly converted by the sword, they were slaughtered mercilessly if they refused to convert to Islam. The Malabar Hindu Genocide is masked as an agricultural revolt by landless peasants against feudal Jamindars by communist historians to whitewash and normalise mass murder of Hindus. The fact is along with Hindu landlords, thousands of Hindu labourers, workers, tenants and craftsmen were killed because they refused to convert to Islam.

The Moplah jihadists never touched the Muslim landlords, hence the whole canard of a peasant revolution is just a veil to cover the horrific ethnic cleansing of Hindus to establish an Islamic Malabar State. The jihadists did not kill any major British officers or administrators, their target was to seize power by armed rebellion and empty out all Hindus for an exclusive Islamic Malabar State. If the British had not quelled the jihadists, India would have lost that territory forever to Islamists.

The police records also bear testimony to the fact that the Moplahs who died in the Wagon Tragedy were booked for rioting, murders, forceful religious conversions among other charges as stated by the ICHR.

Dr. BR Ambedkar’s own words about the Moplah mass murderers in his book, Pakistan or Partition of India stated, “The blood-curdling atrocities committed by the Moplas in Malabar against the Hindus were indescribable. All over Southern India, a wave of horrified feeling had spread among the Hindus of every shade of opinion, which was intensified when certain Khilafat leaders were so misguided as to pass resolutions of congratulations to the Moplas on the brave fight they were conducting for the sake of religion.”

Dr. Ambedkar also criticised MK Gandhi’s slavish capitulation to Jihadist Moplah by stating in the aforementioned book, “ Any person could have said that this was too heavy a price for Hindu-Muslim unity. But Mr. Gandhi was so much obsessed by the necessity of establishing Hindu-Muslim unity that he was prepared to make light of the doings of the Moplas and the Khilafats who were congratulating them. He spoke of the Mappilas as the “brave God-fearing Moplahs who were fighting for what they consider as religion and in a manner which they consider as religious “.

Dr. Amedkar’s Writings and Speeches published by Ambedkar Foundation, mentions his further comments on the genocide of Hindus in the Malabar Rebellion, “The Hindus were visited by a dire fate at the hands of the Moplas. Massacres, forcible conversions, desecration of temples, foul outrages upon women, such as ripping open pregnant women, pillage, arson and destruction— in short, all the accompaniments of brutal and unrestrained barbarism, were perpetrated freely by the Moplas upon the Hindus until such time as troops could be hurried to the task of restoring order through a difficult and extensive tract of the country. This was not a Hindu-Moslem riot. This was just a Bartholomew. The number of Hindus who were killed, wounded or converted, is not known. But the number must have been enormous.”

Thus as Dr. Ambedkar, rightly pointed out what happened in Malabar in 1921was not certainly a freedom struggle movement nor can it be called Moplah Riots, as it was an one-sided Genocide of Hindus by jihadists Moplahs for establishment of Caliphate.

The ICHR withdrew the fifth volume of the dictionary in which the Moplah genocidaires were included as Martyrs a few months after the release of the compendium due to protests from Hindu organisations and non-left historians. A three member panel was set up by the ICHR to review the controversial entries.

Recently this panel of experts recommended that the names of the 387 Moplah Genocidaires and the 70 Moplah mass murderers who died in the Wagon Tragedy should be removed from the compendium on martyrs of India’s freedom struggle, which has been accepted by the ICHR head. The new amended Dictionary sans the names of the Moplah genocidaires would be published and released by October end this year.

It is welcome that reams of lies spun by communist distorians like Romila Thapar, DN Jha and their comrades from Kerala are being shred to pieces now and truth is being uncovered in public discourse through social media platforms and media debates. Finally, the families of victims of Moplah genocaiders in Kerala are getting a sense of recognition for the horror suffered by their ancestors 100 years back at the hand of Islamist Jihadists, who have been hailed as ‘Martyrs’ and “Freedom Fighters” by fraudulent communists.
