On January 8, 2021, President Donald J. Trump Tweeted:

“The 75,000,000 great American Patriots who voted for me, AMERICA FIRST, and MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN, will have a GIANT VOICE long into the future. They will not be disrespected or treated unfairly in any way, shape or form!!!”

Shortly thereafter, the President Tweeted:

“To all of those who have asked, I will not be going to the Inauguration on January 20th.”

Puffing in USA

In USA, Puffing, that is, making overstatement of personal opinion is not considered misrepresentation.

This home has beautiful views and great curb appeal is proudly and loudly said by every home seller and his/ her broker and is considered absolutely fine.

Trump has been a real estate person, through and through. Trump’s tweet of 2/8/2021 had more than one superlative.

“The 75,000,000 great American Patriots who voted for me, AMERICA FIRST, and MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN, will have a GIANT VOICE long into the future. They will not be disrespected or treated unfairly in any way, shape or form!!!”

The poor guy couldn’t imagine that even members of his staff will not be spared at their alma maters.

O’ was it his Personal Opinion or Official? That should have made difference.

PS: This twittering business is highly confusing. When is it personal and when official? It is very difficult to know. This twittering business by public officials, in official capacity and matters,  should be HENCEFORTH AND PERMANENTLY STOPPED. How can a public official DISCRIMINATE between members of the public by sharing official information with twitterers, ignoring non – twitterers? I am so happy that our Court judges are avoiding twittering. But politicians? O’ they have unquenching thirst for free (publicity).
