In the middle of all the noise about Gyanwyapi Mandir, I had the time to recall my visit to Jama masjid , long back when i did think that the Jama Masjid was a Hindu a temple, simply based on the architecture.
As usual with every disputed site , the round gumba don top is white , ade in marble while the building is made of red sand stone.
Why is the entire building not made from same material ? Either red sand stone or white marble ?
What kind of a mixed architecture is that ?
Or just like all other overtaken and converted temple , this too was a hindu temple ?
There needs to be a thorough check and a conclusion should be based on scientific evidence to reach a judgement .

Since the Islamists made a point of building over existing temples, its logical to assume and Wiki gives the answer “The Gyanvapi Mosque is located in Varanasi was constructed by Aurangzeb in 1669 upon demolition of an older Shiva temple”
