The investigation into the death of pharmacist Umesh Kolhe, who is said to have been murdered because he backed former BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma, has been taken over by the National Investigation team.
A NIA team has arrived in Amravati to look into the situation. 5 persons have reportedly been detained thus far, according to reports. Mudasir, Shahrukh, Abdul, Shoaib, and Atib are among them.
Maharashtra MLA Nitesh Rane commented on the development by writing, “I’m delighted NIA is going to investigate the Amravati Murder of a pharmacist. Such crimes won’t cease until we outlaw terrorist groups like PFI and Raza Academy, who enjoyed unrestricted power during the MVA regime!
He continued, “Now that “Bhagwadharis” are in power in Maharashtra… It’s time to eliminate them completely!
The 54-year-old doctor operated the “Amit Medical” drugstore in Amravati, Maharashtra’s Tehsil office district. Umesh Kolhe was travelling home on different bikes on the evening of the murder, on June 22, with his son Sanket and daughter-in-law Vaishnavi.
Kolhe was gravely hurt in the incident when a knife was thrust into his neck from behind. Kolhe bled profusely and passed quite instantly.
While requests for an investigation into the religious component are made, the police assert that they have the case solved and that it was a heist gone wrong
