The Waqf Board has received more than Rs. 62 crore from the AAP Government in the last year alone.

According to reports, Ajay Bose, an RTI activist, requested information regarding the grants of aid that the Delhi Waqf Board’s office has received since 2015. It was discovered in the response that the Arvind Kejriwal-led Delhi government sent the Delhi Waqf Board millions of rupees. The Delhi government gave the Waqf Board Rs. 1.25 crores during the 2015–16 fiscal year.

According to an RTI response, the Arvind Kejriwal-led Delhi government has given the Delhi Waqf board more than Rs. 101 crores in public cash over the past seven years. The Waqf Board has received more than Rs. 62 crore from the AAP Government in the last year alone.

It was discovered in the RTI response that the Arvind Kejriwal-led Delhi government sent the Delhi Waqf Board millions of rupees. The Delhi government gave the Waqf Board Rs. 1.25 crores during the 2015–16 fiscal year. The amount continued to rise in the succeeding fiscal years 2016–17, 2017–18, and 2018–19, reaching Rs. 1.37 crore, Rs. 5 crores, and Rs. 8.85 crore.

The Delhi government gave the Delhi Waqf Board Rs 22.72 crores for the 2019–20 fiscal year. The Delhi Waqf Board received Rs. 62.57 crores in just the 2020–21 fiscal year. These grants add up to a total of over 101 crores.

It was discovered in September 2022 that the UPA government, led by Congress, had given 123 public buildings in Lutyens’ Delhi to Waqf in 2014.

The decision was made by the Cabinet and communicated via a secret note just days before the 2014 General Election, according to a Times Now news article. Connaught Place, Ashoka Road, Mathura Road, and other VVIP enclaves are just a few of the desirable places where the houses are situated.

According to Times Now, the Delhi Waqf Board was able to identify the 123 public assets with just one phone call. The covert communication, which is dated March 5, 2014, and is signed by Additional Secretary JP Prakash was also made public by the news outlet.
