There is mass resignation in Shiv Sena according to news report by Times Now. It is reported that the loyalists of Shiv Sena are angry with the Congress leaders flooding into Shiv Sena changing the very character of the party.
A few days back, there was a clash between Shiv Sena workers and Congress workers they literally came to blows with each other. According to Arunil from Times Now, a meeting of Shiv Sena unit in Nagpur was held recently which witnessed a lot of infighting within the Nagpur unit of the party. In the meeting, 200 members of the Shiv Sena gave their resignations protesting induction of huge number of Congress members in to the party. Pertinently, a prominent Congress leader from Nagpur, Dushyant Chaturvedi who was the Congress Chief in Nagpur crossed over to Shiv Sena.
Following this, Chaturvedi inducted many more members from the Congress into Shiv Sena. Shiv Sena loyalists protested against this and felt that they are being overwhelmed by Congress leaders crossing over to the party. The Siv Sena loyalists therefore demanded that these Congressmen should be thrown out of the party.
It is pertinent to note here, that though the Maharashtra government headed by Uddhav Thackeray is run by an alliance of the Shiv Sena, Congress and NC, leaders from the Congress are leaving the sinking ship and migrating to NCP and Shiv Sena in hordes. Though the migration of leaders from Congress to NCP may not cause much heart burn within NCP as NCP’s parent party is the Congress, but the mass migration of Congress members into Shiv Sena is causing a lot of unrest within Shiv Sena as it goes against the very grain of the ex-Saffron party.
Notably, the Congress Chief in Mumbai does not want to align with the Shiv Sena in the local BMC elections. It is a wonder if this Maha Vikas Aghadi Government lasts full five years term without bursting at its seams due to internal contradictions.
Congress is a rudderless sinking ship from which rats are jumping out to prosperous homes. Shiv Sena’s ideology took severe beating when it joined with corrupt ant-Hindu parties like Congress and NCP, who are being rejected by the public electorally, just to fulfil the desire of Aditya Thackeray to make his father the Chief Minister of Maharashtra. The old wily, Chief of NCP, MR Sharad Pawar saw this as an opportunity to hit two birds with the same stone. He successfully kept BJP, although being the single largest party, out of power in Maharashtra by playing on the political ambitions of the Thackerays and also later make Shiv Sena implode from within due to the contradictions in ideology and political alliances. He planned it perfectly well so that he can be the only Maratha Czar in Maharashtra as Shiv Sena would crumble from within.
