It was Mughal Emperor, Akbar oh sorry “The Great Akbar” who butchered 30,000 Hindu women and children after the conquest of Chittor fort. But sadly, Akbar has always been portrayed as great by our distorians coming from Nehruvian Marxist bent of mind.

Also we have never been told in our history books that the great Mughal emperor Akbar kept 5000 women in his harem. Along with a legion of Eunuchs to keep an eye on those women in the Harem (no man other than Akbar was allowed entry into the Harem). With every conquest, the size of Akbar’s harem increased!

Akbar had 300 wives. The rest were dancing girls, concubines and sex slaves. Akbar married Rajput princesses from pretty much every region of Rajputana (except Mewar). However, there is NO mention of any Jodha Bai anywhere among his wives and concubines.

Rather than showing these facts what our television serials and book taught was the myth of Jodha Akbar love. These romantic myths of Jodha-Akbar are not even found in one single source of Akbar or Jahangir. These tales of Jodha are first found in the writings of James Todd (c. 1820), a British colonial pseudo-historian who also wrote many other such fantasies.
