The Apex Court of Bharat refused to lift the blanket ban on firecrackers in Delhi. BJP MP Manoj Tiwari filed a plea before the Supreme Court challenging the blanket ban on sale and purchase of firecrackers during festive seasons. While hearing the plea, the Supreme Court expressed concerns about the increasing pollution levels in Delhi NCR and observed that the court had already passed detailed and “very clear order” regarding the usage of firecrackers.

The Apex court said that the matter will be heard again before the Diwali holidays. The court asked the petitioners “why do you all want to increase the pollution”. The top court further said that their orders regarding the usage of firecrackers “is very clear.”
