The issue of Rohingyas in Delhi is once again in the debate. It all started with Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri’s tweet in which he claimed that the Modi government has decided to shift Rohingyas to flats meant for the Economically Weaker Section. Many questions were raised on social media regarding this statement of Hardeep Singh Puri, after which the Ministry of Home Affairs had to come forward and give an explanation.

In a series of tweets, Home Ministry stated that the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has not given any directions to provide EWS flats to Rohingya illegal migrants at Bakkarwala in New Delhi. It added that the Government of Delhi proposed to shift the Rohingyas to a new location. MHA has directed the GNCTD to ensure that the Rohingya illegal foreigners will continue at the present location as MHA has already taken up the matter of their deportation with the concerned country through MEA. Other than that it claimed that Rohingyas will continue to reside in detention centers. Meanwhile, the MHA asked the Delhi Government to declare the area in which Rohingyas are living as detention centers.

Meanwhile, according to reports, the Kejriwal government of Delhi has not declared a detention center. Moreover, AAP Leader Saurabh Bharadwaj said that “These Rohingyas are a threat to the security of the whole country and the people of Delhi. We Delhiites at least will not allow them to settle here. He said that why the Delhi government should invest the tax money in Delhi by making a detention center, the central government should deport them back.”

In fact, these Rohingyas are living in different parts of the country illegally. First, they occupy the land, then gradually start living there equipped with all the facilities. The situation in the capital Delhi is very serious. Some areas here like Vikaspuri, Najafgarh, Seemapuri Railway Station, Jahangipuri, Bhalswa Dairy, and Kalindi Kunj have a large number of illegal infiltrators. The most surprising thing is that every facility is present inside those huts. Meanwhile, these infiltrators are mostly indulged in crimes across capital, while Hindu refugees from Pakistan, be it the Majnun Ka Tila area of Delhi or Adarsh Nagar Camp, are living in inhuman conditions.

A few days ago, KreatelyMedia reported the news of the escape of Bangladeshis living in Gurugram-Manesar. The surprising fact was that about 50 Rohingya Muslim families fled overnight. Thousands of Rohingya Bangladeshis have disappeared, leaving behind their belongings and slums. They are getting electricity, and water all here, there is an electricity meter installed, and Dish TV is installed. The question is, who provides all these facilities to them? At the same time, KreatelyMedia found in its investigation that Rohingya Bangladeshis living there had got their Aadhaar numbers and all the necessary government documents illegally. Now it is a matter of concern, who provides them all these documents?
