Even before the formal appointment of Joe Biden as the President of the USA, Islamist organisations in the US have started making a plethora of demands literally seeking a free pass for Islamic terrorism and extremism from the President Elect for their support in the 2020 elections. The Fox News reported on 23.12.2020, that the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) has urged Biden to become more lenient on Islamic fundamentalism in a document listing out a 100-day agenda it wants fulfilled.

The CAIR has sought Biden to “oppose and defund” a Homeland Security Program aimed at preventing violent extremism and terror. The Office for Targeted Violence and Terrorism Prevention defends against extremist groups of all hues, from ISIS to White Supremacists, targeted violence due to perceived grievances and includes attacks within schools, workplaces and large public gatherings.

The Islamic body’s document condemns government’s Terrorist Screening Database, terror watchlist as being “unconstitutional” and wants it to be scrapped. It also demands that FBI should stop using informants to gather intelligence on American Muslim communities. It asks Biden to reject any “new domestic terrorism statutes” and close down Guantanamo Bay.

It criticizes Trump and former US Presidents Barack Obama and George W. Bush for pursuing “policies and programs that led to discriminatory profiling and targeting of American Muslims by state and federal law enforcement”.

Notably, CAIR hosted Rep. Ilhan Omar in 2019 even as she outrageously made a comment about the 9/11 terror attacks saying, “because they recognized that some people did something and that all of us were starting to lose access to our civil liberties”. This statement of Omar angered not just many Americans but many from the non-Islamic world, that she trivialized a terrorist attack which killed more than 3,000 people as, ‘some people did something’.

It is pertinent to mention here that the CAIR supports and promotes Islamists like Ilhan Omar who has deep hatred for Judaism, Jews and has stated in the past that Israel should be wiped out from the map of the world. She has also been spreading fake stories of oppression and human rights violation in Kashmir and advocating secession of J&K from India. While she has praised profusely Pakistani army and its establishment which tortures and eliminates indigenous Balochis from Balochistan and has tried to change the demography in Balochistan, Pakistan Occupied Kashmir, Gilgit and Baltistan by overwhelming the local indigenous population with Punjabi Pakistanis.

The CAIR document also demands the US government to raise Human Rights abuses against Muslims in China, India and Burma. Evidently, the CAIR seems to be an organisation more interested in the imagined human rights violations of Muslims in India where the population of Muslims is the second largest in the worl and has increased from 9% in 1951 and now nearly 20%. How can the Muslim community who is supposedly oppressed grow to the present 25 crores? The CAIR is silent about the real human rights violations and genocide of minorities in Pakistan (an Islamic State) and Bangladesh. In Pakistan the minorities were 14% in 1951 and now reduced to less than 1% and in Bangladesh the Hindus were 23% in 1951 (then East Pakistan) and now the Hindu population is reduced to nearly 8%.

The CAIR which calls itself as “America’s largest Muslim civil liberties and advocacy organization” seems to be demanding their pound of flesh for supporting the Republican candidate in 2020 Presidential Elections by seeking a roll back on host of counter terrorism measures put in place by the American government in the wake of grave threat of Islamic fundamentalism and terrorism faced by the USA. If Biden bows down to their demands it would spell an area of deep concern for India’s security and integrity as the USA would then openly start promoting the Islamic terror exporting state of Pakistan.
