The blood-chilling history of Francis Xavier

The Christian missionaries threatened to convert Jain King Kumud and all 22,000 Jains of Goa to convert to Christianity within 6 months, abandon Jainism and accept Christianity or face death, but King Kumud and Jains were ready to die and refused conversion.

AIMIM: Past and Present

The suave politician that Mr. Asaduddin Owaisi is, mouthing copiously the so-called secular credentials of his party on debates and TV interviews, goes on to play the Muslim card and the need to form a strong Muslim party for getting justice to Muslim demands. I am yet to come across an issue that the AIMIM or Mr. Owaisi has raised for any other community other than Muslims. Like other Muslim parties, the entire representation of AIMIM is through Ashrafi candidates (either descendants of the prophet or the upper caste converts). Even the 5 seats that AIMIM won in Bihar are all Ashrafi’s. The Pasmanda (lower caste) Muslims do not get enough representation and are simply used to garner votes and as foot soldiers. This caste system in Indian Muslims itself is a topic for another article.

Lachit Borphukan – Assam’s Hero who fought and Defeated the Mughals

The city of Guwahati had been lost to Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb in 1663. Lachit Borphukan recaptured it in 1667 and recaptured all the areas that were lost to Mughals. He defeated the Mughal army 17 times despite having limited resources. The Battle of Saraighat was a naval battle fought in 1671 between the Mughal Empire, led by Raja Ramsingh I, and the Ahoms, led by Lachit Borphukan on the Brahmaputra River at Saraighat, in Assam. The Ahom Army defeated the Mughal Army by using clever tactics, intelligence and by exploiting the weakness of the Mughal army.

What is the “Gita”

The Gita is the representative literature of Indic civilization. No other work encompasses in itself, to the extent it is possible, the historical development of the people in philosophy, culture and metaphysics, ethics and literature. The essence of Vedanta connecting the thread of wisdom, its sutra, from the Vedas and the Upanishads weaves the essential fabric of this Ultimate Upanishad. Nor is the Gita solely dedicated to Vedanta only. It synthetises in itself the philosophy of Sankhya, even its atheistic dualistic darshana, integrates the movements of Vaishnava bhakti in its discourse, absorbs the essence of yoga and karma yoga, and builds them into a vast comprehensive experience and vision.

Vibrant Manipur – Immersed in Shades of Culture and Tradition

Manipur, the land of jewels can proudly boast of its natural beauty as well as it’s diverse and rich cultural heritage. The Manipuris, from a linguistic point of view, are divided into two groups - the Meiteis and the Bishnupriyas. The language of the Meitis is of Tibeto-Burman group while that of the Bishnupriyas is of the Indic group. Although Meitei is the official language of Manipur, Bishnupriya Manipuri people have their own language, and belongs to the Eastern group of the family and is written in the Bengali–Assamese script, and though it is close to Bengali and Assamese, it is a distinct language.

What is the purpose of life?

One could call the Vedic mantras as a “revelation” because the ancient Rishis clearly stated that they are apaurusheya, which means that they are not created by humans. This revelation however is not comparable with the so called revelations of Christianity and Islam, because it is not about a claim which can never be verified and which is not conform to common sense, like the claim, “if you don’t believe that this book contains the full truth you burn in hell forever.”

Bappa Rawal – The Untold Legend OF mewar.

Bappa Rawal, (8th century) was a celebrated King of Mewar region in Rajasthan. He is identified as having predecessors of present days Gahlot, Sisodia, Kalabhoj, Shiladitya and Khumana who ruled Mewar during different phases of time. Bappa Rawal in a sense had broken the myth that Indian Kings could not unite against foreign invaders to protect the mother land. The fake narrative to divide and derecognize them has been in history books for too long. The ferocity and bravery of Bappa Rawal was so astounding that subjects offered him the name of reverence Bappa. (मेवाड़ का संस्थापक पिता)

Indian Liberals Are Not Liberal

But the biggest challenge to liberalism today is a fundamental lack of integrity. The unwillingness to take a stand based on principle, whether it is against dynasty in politics, or to stand up for inconvenient truths like the exodus of Kashmiri pandits and their refugee status, or the degenerate and pernicious activities in Bollywood aligned with ISI, or the inconsistency flagrantly displayed to gain votes by milking Sabarimala. A gratuitous giveaway given to the Nehru-Gandhi family, no matter how atrocious or undemocratic their behavior might be, whether it is with matters of National Tribune or Bofors or corruption by Vadra or the disrespect shown by Rahul Gandhi towards the entire cabinet of the country, is a glaring contradiction in terms.

If Congress Were a Business, It Would Be Bankrupt Today. And Its Assets Sold Off

The Indian National Congress is a hundred and thirty two years old party. At least, if we believe, this is the same organization that took part in India’s freedom struggle. Valid reasons can be given to suggest otherwise. That this is not even a shadow of the organization which once boasted of luminaries such as Mahatma Gandhi, Lokmanya Tilak, Bipin Chandra Pal, Jawaharlal Nehru, Sardar Patel and so many others in its ranks. My own grandfather was a peasant leader who almost gave up his life in the battle for fairness and equality and served in the first cabinet in Rajasthan as Home Minister. Today, that mindset is gone.
